To the 6th National Opal Symposium. This time to be held in Winton, Queensland and hosted by the Queensland Boulder Opal Association.
The theme of the Symposium is 'It's Time'. It's time that the Australian Opal Industry came together and worked in unison for the betterment of everyone involved at all levels throughout the industry. Today the opal industry is facing its most challenging period in its history. With the decline of mining operations along with miners and the changes in world travel and consumer spending patterns. We have to look at all areas of the industry to adjust these changes.
With these factors in mind the committee are working to put together a cross section of speakers who will enlighten us all of ways to work towards greater stability and productivity which will hopefully supply information that can consolidate existing operations and introduce new people to the industry.
