QBOA hold an annual Opal Tradeshow in Winton at the beginning of July, this Tradeshow is generally the first on the circuit of tradeshows held in opal producing areas of Australia.
The Winton Opal Tradeshow is held at the North Gregory Hotel in the centre of the main street, with the Beer Garden being the area for cut and polished stories and Jewellery, and the joining Car Park is for tailgating. Trading is held here for two days and is open to the public.
Boulder Opal Jewellery Design Awards and Opal Inspired Dress Design Awards are held each year with the judging being done at the time of the Opal Tradeshow.
In 2009 the results of the Design Awards shall be announced at the National Opal Symposium Dinner which will be held on Wednesday 8th July. At this dinner entries in the Design Awards shall be paraded for those attending to view.
